WOMAN WORLD CUP DRAW REVELEAD FOR 2023
Nigeria's World Cup opponents have been revealed, and South Africa has received Italy and Argentina.
At the ninth FIFA Women's World Cup finals, which will take place in the summer of 2019, Nigeria will compete in Group B alongside co-hosts Australia, Canada, and the Republic of Ireland.
Nigeria will play Canada in her opening match of the competition, which will be held in a total of nine cities (five in Australia and four in New Zealand) and feature 32 teams, making it the largest FIFA Women's World Cup since it started in China in 1991. This information was revealed at the draw ceremony held on Saturday in Auckland/Tâmaki Makaurau.
Joint-hosts In Group A, New Zealand will compete against Switzerland, the Philippines, and Norway.
Between China 1991 and France 2019, just seven nations—Nigeria, the United States, Brazil, Norway, Sweden, Germany, and Japan—appeared in every FIFA Women's World Cup.
Six months ago, the Falcons were on a tour to Canada where they competed in two games against the Olympic champions, losing one game heavily and drawing the other.
